Past and present....future?

Well...here it is, 2005...March 2nd, no less...

I haven't posted to the blog much...but, life comes first.

The birth of my first child might have a lot to do with it...

The Irish band, called The Stone Soup Band, that I play in has been occupying a good amount of my musical energy lately. We have been spending a significate amount of time lately in the studio recording our second CD. It will be titled "The Enchanter".

I have been working on the artwork. It will be exciting to see my artwork graceing the cover of our new CD. Dare I call myself a professional graphic artist? (I call myself a profession Systems Engineer, normally.)

The Ombient music has been put on the backburner as has my involment with progression /space music band, Brainstatik To much to do, and so little time.

My new job, with a startup company, have consumed much of my professional time...let's hope our product is a success...

Anyway, thanks for reading my pointless little BLOG...

First post...more to follow? Who can tell...

Interesting...ok....let's blog....

Spent the day with my wife and 10 week old son climbing the trail up Pyramid Mountain near Boonton, NJ to view the Tripod Rock...I have been before but the wife has not...

As a matter of fact, I went previously on a photographic trip for my Irish Traditional/Celtic Rock group "The Stone Soup Band." Pictures for our website...which I design and maintain.

http://www.stonesoupband.com <-- if your interested in this kind of music.

So..why this blog amongst thousands of other blogs???...Why not...an experiment...

Why the title of Ombient?

Well, I perform live loop based ambient music under the name "Ombient". "Om" as in the hindu mantra and "bient" as in ambient. I plan to document my experience as a musician here.

The music, by the way, is extremely ambient in nature... check it out at:

http://www.ombient.com/

...until I can get a better web provider anyway...

I am also a bit of a digital artist...not that great..but if your interested check out:

http://www.revelwood.org/mage (as in Mike the Mage...my Revelwood nickname...)

What's Revelwood you ask? It this cool artisans colony based in south NJ. For info, check out:

http://www.revelwood.org

Anyway...that's enough to keep interested (interesting?) people busy for awhile...time to post a link from the Ombient home page to here...
